Maybe...

While I really liked The Lying Game, I didn't like Pretty Little Liars.  I am sort of in between about The Perfectionists. by Sara Shepard.   Granted, what ruined PLL for me was the mistake I made in watching the show, but with LG I could wait for the next one.  With The Perfectionists, I wasn't even that excited about getting to the end.

Do You Want to Know a Secret

Secrets and Lies is the second book in the Truth or Dare series and I have to say, it kept my interest, but I think I have figured it out.  Maybe.  I don't know!  But I think I figured out the bad guy/girl! 

Who Cares?

Yes so Truth or Dare is a bit like Pretty Little Liars!  Who cares!  It is great fun and a page-turner for sure!  I enjoyed this book so much and I kept on reading.  It has the spoiled rich kids and the kids from the poor side of town.  The rotten parents and good parents and evil stalker who is playing a game of truth or dare that is truly evil.  And it is a series.  Great stuff, great fun for summer or any other time.  If you liked Pretty Little Liars you will like this, too!

So I always wanted to read this...

Perfect Chemistry, that is.  Because the covers for the whole series are wonderful.  Finally I did because I was hearing about the whole goodreads bullying thing.  There is this broad from Australia or maybe Austria who wrote what she thought was a funny review of Perfect Chemistry.  A bad review.  I read the review and it was a sarcastic, lame attempt to be funny and then I thought, I gotta get around to reading this.  And I loved it!  It is very fast read and it also brings to the forefront the inequities in our American culture.  Maybe that's why the Austrialian didn't get it.  I don't know.  She claims she is a "slightly less than young" fan of young adult books.  Honey.  Face the facts like the rest of us.  You is old.  It is okay!  A lot of people get old!  You can't stay young or "slightly less young" forever.  Ya either pass on or get old, right?  Anyway, the broad's review isn't bully-worthy, I don't think.  It is just lame and unfunny and racist, actually.  So it is offensive.  Maybe it is bully-worthy.  Although it is so pathetic, it just doesn't seem worthy of being a bully review because we know that real bullying is terribly painful and makes an impact.  Her little thing?  Just lame.  But racist...so I don't know...
Anyway, enough time wasted on some broad who doesn't want to get old.
Brit and Alex are from opposite sides of Chi-Town.  She's a princess pom-pom girl, he is a gang banger.  But can they make it work?  Read it and see!  And really, don't let some wanna-be-comic bully you into not liking it!

Mean Girls Get Meaner

The Dead and Buried reminded me of a R.L. Stine, Christopher Pike, Diane Hoh type of books from the late 80s, early 90s. Those books and this one are great for escape.  The Dead and Buried was a quick mystery and it took me a little bit to figure it, but I did.  
Jade and her family have moved from farm country in Massachusetts into rich suburbia and Jade does wonder why her family suddenly could afford the new home, but she doesn't ask. She is dismayed, to say the least, to learn that the house was so cheap because a young girl, Kayla, was murdered in it the year before. Turns out Kayla is still around and is determined I find out who killed her, and threatens Jade's little brother's life, so that Jade will bring the killer to light. The problem is, while Jade was the queen of the school, mostly everyone hated and feared her. There's a long line of suspects and Jade is dealing with step-family life an romance and ghosts of her own as she goes about her detective work. The book doesn't go into a lot of character depth, which is something I do enjoy, but sometimes you need a book like this, to take your mind off of the world and draw you in to a good, old-fashioned, scary ghost story.  It will be easy to recommend and it will be well received, I bet.
