Was it Just

that I didn't like the character?  I gave My Life Before Me only 3 of 5 stars.  I really didn't like Cady.  All of the girls had the same problem, but Cady just was a jerk.  In my opinion.  She was very realistic!  Her journey took her to the United States, to the state of Indiana, where racism is rampant, just like in the south.  I can't tell if Cady is as miserable and uncaring about her birth parents as she seems to be or if it is a defense mechanism.  Either way, this was my least favorite one, but still glad I read it.

So two years ago we had this big comedy night to raise money for summer reading and man, it was so wonderful.  This year we are doing it again!  I can't wait!  I wasn't going to perform, because these folks are really funny, but I might.  I am getting a little better, the more I practice and I do love the stage!  Can't wait!

 I do love my Lobster so much.  He has been with me, traveling around the country since 2009.  I have no idea why his video is banned in some countries, according to youtube.  Scary!

So a hundred years ago I lost 150+ pounds on Weight Watchers.  I kept it off for five years and then gained that back, plus.  On January 2 I started WW again.  My dear friend Christin gave me some inspiring words when I was dismayed by my second week loss of only 1.8lbs after having a loss of 8.2 the first week.  "Every loss in a win."  I am going to keep that on my heart each week!  Especially tomorrow, when I weigh in for the third time.

When I posted this on twitter, I simply said that those who don't love Tupac, don't know Tupac.  And that couldn't be more true.  He is sometimes dismissed as a hood, or just another rapper.  But he isn't.  He is an unreal poet, just an incredible man.

You know how there are just some spaces that are amazing?  This is one of those spaces.  It's the Reference Department of the Sewickley Library of the Quaker Valley School District.  Let me tell you, there is nothing like singing "There's No Business Like Show Business" at the top of your lungs in this room.  The acoustics are amazing.

Cloudette is such a lovely, lovely cute book.  My brother and I would always say that things without noses are much cuter than things with noses.  Look at those other little things, they don't have noses either!  So cute!

Here is Dolores Colarosa.  She's the one on the far left!  This was taken at the performance of a Christmas play.  And I picked this one as my second Happy Day because Dolores really taught me how to appreciate every day as if it were a holiday, a Holy day.  A Happy Day.

100 Happy Days 1/100

Yesterday I saw information about 100 Happy Days, a social media exercise in sharing things that make us happy!  I figured, why not?  Since I do have that funny little Valentine, Depression, this is something that might be good for me!
Yesterday our furnace broke.  It's pretty cold these days, so it wasn't the best of timing.  But the thing is, I was totally blown away by the kindness of those around me.  Folks offered to let me and my mom stay with them.  Some folks even said my dogs and cats could come, too!  My mom won't budge so we stayed home, but my dear friend Sharon lent me space heaters- and many others offered theirs.
Around 10:00pm, Sharon sent me a text that said, "I hope the stuff on your porch helps a little."
On the porch there were three brand new electric blankets and a power strip (she thinks of everything)!
So here is my picture of one of the glorious blankets and of the space heaters.  I am doing 100 Happy Days on my twitter account, which has very few followers, so I thought why not post here and then I can elaborate.  Far too often I elaborate on the bad.  But man, this was really, really good.
