What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Wish there were more, but maybe not...

The War I Finally Won is a sequel to The War that Saved My Life and I loved it. I love Ada and Susan and the whole story and I wish I could read more about them, but I wonder if this is just one of those things, like it is better to have this one be the end? Would a continuation of their stories just be cheesy? Unnecessary? I am the wars are over and wow, what an ending. What a great, great book. The ending was absolutely perfect. Just wonderful. I loved this book.

WhY!

I know why I didn't read The War that Saved My Life before and it is because I thought it would be super boring and just the "same old same old" but it was NOT! This was really, really good! And I am looking forward to reading the next one! What a great story. I loved the main character and her brother. It was hard to hear the way that Ada and Jamie were treated by their mother- the way that she talked to them. But we know that happens.
Just an excellent book.
