In Darkness won the
Printz Medal this year and I admit I was angry! I had seen the book before but it looked way too boring, I couldn't even get through the jacket description. I tried to read it a couple times after the awards came out, but couldn't get into it. My buddy,
Kara, though, she couldn't put it down. So when my audible credit came in January, I bought it and man. Wow. It was amazing. It truly was one of those can't put it down/can't stop listening books. It is set in modern day
Haiti and also in Haiti during the time of
Toussaint Louverture. I didn't know anything about Haitian history, except the ridiculousness of
Pat Robertson.
