What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Very Cute

The Tale of Despereaux was a very quick listen and lovely story. I see that it won the Newbery in 2004.  That is fine.  It is a lovely story.  About a mouse, but more than a mouse.  It's about when bad things happen to you, it can either turn you into a vengeful, bitter person and then it will lead to even worse things.
I get that.  But this is what I don't get.  However, Locomotion was published that year.
So.
I don't really know what to say.
I just ask you to read both and then decide for yourself.
1954?  I think so.
