What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Wow

Ok so I have read a lot of cheesy books in my lifetime. I've read a lot of cheesy books since I started this blog. And I've liked a lot of them. Some I loved! Big time! Then this year I read the whole "return to Sweet Valley" thing and it was bad. But not as bad as Class, aka Cum Laude. This book was beyond bad. I usually give cheesy books points for not trying to be anything other than cheese, but I can't even do that in this case. This book was just that terrible. Beyond terrible. And I don't think it was trying to be terrible. I think it was trying to be a real book! This is like the foster parent of books. It was just horrible.  It is written by the same person who wrote The Gossip Girl Series.  But that series can't be this bad, right?  Because so many people have read them.  So I must read one next to see.  This story deals with five people and their freshman year at a small liberal arts college in Maine.  It is just really bad.
