What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Not the End

I had thought that Starters and Enders would be a two book deal. After reading Enders, though, I think that Lissa Price has more to come.  I loved Starters so much that I thought when I saw it on iBooks a few months ago, I bought it right away!  Only to discover that it was in Spanish.  That was kinda depressing.  I also loved the emini books, Portrait of a Marshall and Portrait of a Starter.  But Enders disappointed me a little.  First of all, the cover is really bad.  But more than that, for me anyway, the book had a little too much science in it.  I know that the book is science fiction!  But I just don't remember Starters having as much science as Enders did.  I couldn't get back into the story, even though I do think Price did a nice job catching the reader up, I just couldn't start to care about Callie as much as I did before.  Still, I certainly will buy this for the library and I do recommend it to folks who need to know what happens after Prime Destinations is no more.  Will I read the next one?  I am just not sure.
