What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Good Morning, Mr. Zip Zip Zip

My grandmother used to say that all of the time.  I have no idea why.  I don't think I have ever googled it...I will now.
Well, wouldn't you know?  It was a ragtime song!
A Girl Named Zippy has "zip" in the title, so yeah, that was my connection there.
A dear friend recommended AGNZ to me, having grown up in a locale similar to this particular girl named Zippy, Haven Kimmel.
I am so thankful that she did because this was a very enjoyable read. Kimmel reminds me of a gentler David Sedaris.  And it was neat learning more about growing up in a midwestern town.
Very funny.
