So like I mentioned in my review of Local, I'm re-reading and planning to finish The Runaways. I recently got volumes 1-3, which contains the first eighteen issues in one, big heavy book. It was great to be reacquainted with these teen superheroes. The comic is set in L.A., a city I fell in love with in March when I visited California for the first time.As all of the publicity surrounding the Runaways comic says, every teen thinks that their parents are evil, but what if they really were? The six teens in this comic discover that their parents are evil supervillians. They band together and set out to fight their parents and do good instead of evil!
The comic is quite funny. The teenagers, even though they are now superheroes, are normal teenagers with crushes and jealousies and insecuritites.
