What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

HOORAY!

Okay so I know that the guy who wrote Runaways Vol. 8 Dead End Kids was some kind of comic book genius. But he was just not good for The Runaways. I feel that way even more now that I've finished The Runaways Vol. 9 Dead Wrong which collects issues through . This collection isn't written by series creator Brian K. Vaughan, it is written by Terry Moore, but the story is back on track. The Kids are THE KIDS again. Granted, the art is really terrible. No not the art, but the kids themselves. They look way too manga and way too young and way too silly and just plain bad. But the story is great. Excellent cliff hanger at the end of this volume. In this volume the kids accidentally are impacted by the fall out of one of Nico's spells and it splits the group apart. There is also the introduction of a seriously evil Howard Stern-esque shock jock that I hope will appear in forthcoming issues. Sorry Mr. Comic Book Writer Genius, but I'm glad you're not a Runaway anymore!
